Experience the beauty of Aros estuary

Welcome to Glenaros Lodge - a comfortable base for your Mull adventure!

A secluded boutique bed and breakfast, Glenaros Lodge has outstanding views over a tidal bay to Aros Castle and the Sound of Mull

Our Bedrooms

We offer just 3 bedrooms, a large double, a smaller double which has a stunning vintage bed, and a large twin, all with exceptional sea views. All our bedrooms are comfortably furnished with period furniture and decorated in keeping with the house, with an abundance of original art works. Our bathrooms are newly refurbished with the choice of bath or shower including an original cast iron bath in the large double. For 2025 our 2 large bedrooms will both be en suite and the small double with private bathroom will usually only be available when booked with another bedroom.

Downstairs

We hope you will make yourselves comfortable in the sitting room which you will most likely have to yourselves for much of the time- we can light the wood burning stove for you if you wish. There is a good selection of reading matter throughout the house and we have a set of replica Lewis chess men and other games. Our broadband enables streaming to your own device should you wish. We can offer a good sized drying room for your use and secure bike storage. There is ample parking and a 7.5 KW car charger. Glenaros Lodge is fully licensed as a traditional Bed and Breakfast under the new Scottish Government licensing scheme license no AR58.

Food and Hospitality

Guests enjoy a proper cooked breakfast made where possible with local produce. Fae your co- host was brought up on Mull helping to run her parent's award winning hotel. She comes from a family of artists and it is intended to run artist's retreats at Glenaros Lodge- watch this space! Whatever your interests we will do our best to make your stay as memorable as possible while leaving you to your own devices if you wish.

Outside

The 4 acres of gardens are deer fenced which gives us an opportunity to create a special haven for guests with lots of lookout points and benches from which to enjoy the views and the tumbling burn with its pools. Aros bay is completely tidal so the neighbourhood changes dramatically every six hours as the sea retreats to reveal level sands loved by sea birds and great for short excursions on foot. Aros castle is just a small step away with a secluded beach nearby and behind us is a newly planted woodland area with a hill fort and path to Salen.

The Mull and Iona Archipelago

Glenaros Lodge makes a great central base for longer excursions further afield as we are strategically located at the "waist" of Mull. The Island and her surrounding islands has been a magnet for visitors for centuries and interest is undiminished as the wealth of films and current programmes testifies. Iona and Staffa (with Fingal's cave) are world class heritage sites, and Lunga an astonishing sanctuary for puffins and other bird life. Visitors have seen basking sharks, whales, golden and sea eagles, otters aplenty. Climb Ben More, visit the beautiful Ulva or colourful Tobermory, there are too many attractions to list.
